Spice launches the Stellar series of smartphones in India

Spice has launched the Stellar series of smartphones in India, which include the Stellar Horizon, Stellar Craze and the Stellar. All the three devices run Google’s Android OS. The Stellar features a 4-inch capacitive display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 2000 mAh battery, a 5-Megapixel camera and a front facing VGA Camera and Dual-Sim capabilities. The device runs Android 2.3 out of the box, however Spice says that the device will receive an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the near future. Interestingly, the Stellar ships with NetQin Antivirus for enhanced security. This device will be available for Rs 9,999.

The Stellar Horizon is being positioned as a high end product. The Stellar Horizon flaunts a large 5-inch display, a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel camera, a VGA front facing camera, a large 2250 mAh battery, SRS audio, HSPA support, 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, Wi-Fi tethering, Dual-Sim capability, and will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. The Stellar Horizon will cost Rs 11,999.
The Stellar Craze on the hand is the low end model which features a 3.5-inch display, a 800MHz processor, a 1420 mAh battery, HSDPA support, Wi-Fi tethering and Dual Sim capability. This device will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box, but again Spice says that it will receive an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Stellar Craze will cost Rs 6,499.
