Motorola India has turned to social media to announce a permanent 25% price cut for the second-generation Motorola Moto G. That works out to the equivalent of a $47.27 USD discount on the phone, bringing the handset's new price to $157.54. Motorola India could be looking to clear out inventory before the launch of the third-generation Mototola Moto G. Last month, a video purportedly showed the next iteration of the Moto G, and online retailer Flipkart mistakenly posted a listing for it back in May.

The second-generation Moto G comes with a 5-inch LCD screen featuring a 720 x 1280 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 294ppi. A Snapdragon 400 chipset is under the hood, carrying a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 305 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of expandable memory. An 8MP camera (with an aperture of f/2.0) is on back, with a front-facing 2MP shooter ready to handle selfies and video chats. A 2070mAh battery keeps the lights on, and Android 5.0 is pre-installed.
