When the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Samsung Galaxy J7 were unveiled in China last month, they were the first phones from the company to come with a front-facing flash. Now, Samsung has sent out invitations for a media event that it is holding in India on July 16th. On that day, the two handsets are expected to be officially announced in that country.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 comes with a 5-inch screen carrying a 720 x 1280 resolution. That works out to a 294ppi pixel density. Driving the handset is a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC with a quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU and the Adreno 306 GPU. 1.5GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of native storage. A 64GB capacity microSD slot is available for those seeking additional memory. The 13MP rear-facing camera has an aperture of f/1.9, which means that it can take quality pictures in low-light conditions. The 5MP front-facing snapper has a 120 degree wide angle lens and an LED flash. The Galaxy J5 offers dual SIM capabilities and supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity. A 2600mAh battery keeps the lights on and Android 5.1 is pre-installed.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 comes with a 5.5-inch glass featuring a 720 x 1280 resolution. That combination results in a pixel density of 267ppi. The Snapdragon 615 SoC found under the hood includes an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 405 GPU. 1.5GB of RAM is inside, along with 16GB of internal storage. Those requiring more memory can take advantage of the 128GB capacity microSD slot. A 13MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera (f/1.9 aperture) are included. The Galaxy J7 supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity. Keeping the generator humming is a 3000mAh battery, and Android 5.1 is pre-installed.

Both models will be offered in Black, White and Gold colors, and we should find out about pricing and availability during the event on Thursday.
